Lyonn

Lyonn is situated to the north of Antumnos, where the forests are dense and dark, the land is uneven and hilly, and the fae are watchful and wary. Lyonn shares the longest stretch of border with the Faewilds, and for many years have fought against the creatures that live within by themselves. Piskies ensure the usage of the full animal, keeping their furs for clothing, hide and bones for construction, and meat for eating.

The main trade that comes from Lyonn is lumber and animal products such as furs and meat.

The ley lines that flow through Lyonn have given the piskies the ability to manipulate how time affects reality, giving them a philosophical view on life.

Each yarldom only worships their own deity, though they acknowledge that the deities of other yarldoms also exist. The name of their deity is used as the name of their yarldom. Birds are sacred to the piskies, and it is considered heresy to kill one. Feathers freely shed are coveted, and often used in clothing, but not lightly traded.

Piskies have a philosophical view on life and death, and do not believe in an afterlife. They believe that life is to be enjoyed, and death is nothing to fear, as you will never technically experience it.

The piskies are still very similar to how the First Clans used to operate, with yarldoms being ruled under their Yarls, and coming together under one banner for trade or larger scale military purposes. Each yarldom has their own cultural identity, though the piskies are united in their attitude towards life and beliefs.

Each yarldom has their own symbol, which will often be displayed on their shields, but their weaponry and tactics will vary between yarldoms. The Yarl is leader of both everyday politics and military might, though they may choose to have additional leaders in various aspects of yarldom life.

Piskies can use Divinatory Magic which allows them to fortell the future and affect the perception of time. In addition to simpler divinatory incantations, piskies may perform a powerful ritual known as Time-Seer, which summons voices from the past or the future. Through this ritual, piskies can gain knowledge of historical events and omens of things yet to come… though piskies who devote themselves to such thorough exploration of time must take care not to lose sight of the present.

Piskies also possess an innate affinity for the element of Sky and an innate weakness to the element of Land.

Buteo

Many of Lyonn’s best hunters hail from Buteo. They are close allies with Falco.

Corvus

Yarl Rhys Corvus was one of the few who supported Vanora's Watch. The piskies of Corvus are known to be friendly and cunning. Metallic beads are often featured on clothing of those who hail from Corvus.

Emberiza

Mostly known for their agriculture, but should not be underestimated.

Falco

The Yarl of Falco was very against the conception of Vanora's Watch, insisting that piskies had always protected Antumnos from the Faewilds, and always should. Being the largest yarldom, the Yarl is supported by delegates who oversee other aspects of yarldom life. The piskies of Falco are known to be aggressive both in battle and diplomacy.

Lyrus

Many bards and musicians hail from Lyrus, who often go off adventuring to seek fame and fortune.

Milvus

Prolific hunters within the Faewilds, they are considered the most courageous of the piskies. They are also well-regarded for their leatherwork.

Pyrrhoc

Based in the mountain range that borders Lyonn and Mythvye, Pyrrhoc is a fairly small yarldom. With abundant access to stiff goat fur, the arrows made by members of Pyrrhoc are second to none.

Sterna

Well known for their smithies and weaponry trade amongst the piskies.

Sylvi

One of the many yarldoms that borders the Faewilds, they are best known for their lumber trade - they are well regarded for their woodwork.

Tyto

Rumoured to live on an island off the coastal forest of Lyonn, little is known about this yarldom. However, piskies of Tyto can often be met in markets, trading fish.

To play a pisky, the best way to portray this is with long pointed ears. These can be found from various retailers, and in different sizes.

Some piskies may also choose to adorn themselves with paint, whether it helps them prepare for battle or enhance a ritual. They take inspiration from birds and may also use runic markings (Ogham not Futhark). Keep to deeper colours and stay away from neon to differentiate between piskies and coblynau.

Piskies take inspiration for their costume from traditional Celtic fashion, wearing furs and heavier fabrics to fight off the cold. Colours would be neutral and cool in tone, but may also take on elements depending on their particular yarldom - e.g. metallic beads in the Corvus yarldom. Patterns can also be worn in your costume to represent a particular clan, with organiser approval.

Feathers can be included in pisky clothing, but never as headdresses.

Armour for the piskies are usually thick padded garments mixed with leather. Many favour manoeuvrability, and may use furs to help disguise themselves as they fight within the Faewilds.

Shields are round, and piskies favour longer ranged melee weapons - such as spears and polearms - over swords and bows. Pisky archers make their fletching for their arrows from fur, not feathers (this does not require physical representation).

Ashley of Corvus, or Yarl Ashley Corvus

Community within yarldoms is important to the piskies, so they will attribute themselves with their yarldom using “of -”. If one is the Yarl, then the yarldom will be used as their surname.
