Mythvye

Mythvye is the home to the majority of sandy beaches and secluded coves in Antumnos, and is situated on the peninsula of the continent. It is rare for a korrigan to not know how to swim or sail a boat, with many taking up fishing as a career. Due to their experience with sand, the people of Mythvye are the inventors of glass and spectacles, which has helped a great many people across Antumnos.

Their main trades are fish, ocean products (such as pearls and seaweed) and glassware.

The ley lines that flow through Mythvye have given the korrigans the ability to manipulate the perception of reality, which has led to stricter laws on magical usage.

Korrigans are more likely to worship the elements compared to other cultures. They believe each element has a deity attached, those being Liant (the Sea, their primary deity), Pryth (the Land), Nennau (the Sky), Tywell (the Dark), and Olau (the Light).

When it comes to death, korrigans believe they return to the ocean, allowing the energy of their lives to fill its waters with new life. They are often at odds with the booakers of Havod for this, due to their ability to speak with the dead.1)

The korrigans are led by a Tairyn, and are currently ruled by Tairyn Alys. The ruling Tairyn - or delegated official - passes judgement over those Korrigans who use their Illusion magic for “inappropriate usage”2).

Due to their expertise in sailing, their military makes most of their moves from the ocean. As a result, those parts of the military are well versed in scaling cliffs. They typically work in small commando units, keeping close to the coastal line, finding a secret harbour, then attacking before making a quick and tactical retreat.

Korrigans can use Illusion Magic which allows them to confuse and misdirect their foes.

Korrigans also possess an innate affinity for the element of Sea and an innate weakness to the element of Sky.

To play a korrigan, the best way to portray this is by adding scales to one’s skin. This effect can be achieved using make-up (metallic blues and greens work best) and applying it with a section of mesh or fishnets over the skin. A korrigan’s scales can appear all over the body, but more likely along the hairline.

Some korrigans also have webbed ears. These can be purchased as prosthetics and can be found at many retailers online.

Korrigan clothing takes inspiration from many modern fantasy costumes seen in film (e.g. The Lord of the Rings, specifically the elves), with long flowing lines and swishy fabrics. Colours would take inspiration from the oceans and beaches they live by, with blues and greens being most prominent, with accents of coral pinks and sandy yellows.

Armour for the korrigans tends to mimic the fish they trade, and would ideally be scale or chain mail. Shields are small to better travel and climb with.

In terms of weaponry, swords and other melee weapons are more prominent, even a few tridents if the korrigan is well-trained. Ranged weapons are less frequently found in Mythvye, though nets may be used to trap enemies.

Korrigans have names that flow like the sea, and have a total of five in their full name. It goes: Given name, Middle name, First Parent’s name, Second Parent’s name, Surname. Surnames, while the same as one of the parents’, are picked almost purely on what sounds or feels best.

1)
As it turns out, many booakers have tried contacting past korrigans, to prove them wrong, but have so far been unsuccessful.
2)
Typically defined as “anything more than changes in perception”, though this may vary between Tairyns.
