Antumnos

Antumnos is a continent in the world of Byd (pronounced: beed), which is saturated in magic. Formed from the divided remains of a foregone kingdom named Annwn, Antumnos today consists of five nations.

The people that inhabit Antumnos are fae beings known collectively as Bendith, though each nation is home to a unique culture forged through prolonged exposure to the ley lines running through the land. Though the five nations have continued to grow more and more distinct from one another over time, a centuries-old legend has it that one day, the Bendith will be once more united under the throne of Annwn.

Pastures of Havod Havod is the geographically largest of the nations in Antumnos, and home to the booakers. This nation boasts luscious fields and a community feeling in every town. The central town of Mynach is where the Council House can be found, the meeting place of all the Councillors of Havod.

Their main trades are bovine products - meat, leather and dairy - as well as agricultural and botanical produce.

The ley lines that flow through Havod have given the booakers the ability to communicate with the dead, giving them a rich appreciation of life and death.

Mountains of Kloth'va The home of the coblynau, Kloth’va is nestled between the forests and the mountains of Antumnos. Towns in Kloth’va are found within forest clearings, in valleys between the mountains, and within the mountains themselves. The capital, Rhitta, can be found beneath the largest mountain, Mt. Wythfa.

Their main trades are technology, lumber, metal and gemstones.

The ley lines that flow through Kloth’va have given the coblynau the ability to manipulate the land, which they use to their technological and industrial advantage.

Forests of Llanhythel Llanhythel is mostly covered in evergreen forests, and towns and cities of the gwyllion are in clearings, the outskirts or even in the trees themselves. Llanhythel has the smallest population of fae in the five nations, but their forests are full of wildlife.

Their main trade is lumber, game and textiles.

The ley lines that flow through Llanhythel have given the gwyllion the ability to communicate with spirits known as ysbridion, who sometimes help - or even hinder - in their plans.

Hills of Lyonn Lyonn is situated to the north of Antumnos, where the forests are dense and dark, the land is uneven and hilly, and the fae are watchful and wary. Lyonn shares the longest stretch of border with the Faewilds, and for many years have fought against the creatures that live within by themselves. Piskies ensure the usage of the full animal, keeping their furs for clothing, hide and bones for construction, and meat for eating.

The main trade that comes from Lyonn is lumber and animal products such as furs and meat.

The ley lines that flow through Lyonn have given the piskies the ability to manipulate how time affects reality, giving them a philosophical view on life.

Coves of Mythvye Mythvye is home to the majority of sandy beaches and secluded coves in Antumnos, and is situated on the peninsula of the continent. It is rare for a korrigan to not know how to swim or sail a boat, with many taking up fishing as a career. Due to their experience with sand, the people of Mythvye are the inventors of glass and spectacles, which has helped a great many people across Antumnos.

Their main trades are fish, ocean products (such as pearls and seaweed) and glassware.

The ley lines that flow through Mythvye have given the korrigans the ability to manipulate the perception of reality, which has led to stricter laws on magical usage.

Beyond the Five Nations

The Ley Lines are the throughlines of magic throughout the world of Byd, and those in Antumnos have been roughly mapped out. The issue with this is that they keep changing, sometimes merging and sometimes growing apart. Several of them are believed to converge in the Faewilds, and spread out to the land on the other side.

Seas of Sorrow The waters surrounding Antumnos are treacherous and vast. There are rumours of Morgens - horrific sea creatures who were once korrigans - who attack any voyage brave (or stupid) enough to venture into their territory. More than a few shipwrecked crews have decreased interest in sailing off towards the sunset.

The Faewilds This dense and dark forest at the edges of Lyonn, Kloth'va and Llanhythel, is occupied by wild beasts and wilder fae. The ley lines that run through the Faewilds are warping and corrupting these inhabitants, but no one knows why. Over the last generation, the forest has grown ever darker, and the burden of protection continues to rest on the members of Vanora's Watch.

Not much is known of what lays beyond the Faewilds. There are stories of descendants of the First Clans, and more stories of dragons, though there is little evidence to support these stories. What rumours that exist, however, are kept in the Watch's Archives.
